A beautifully textured 100% cotton fabric with a wonderfully characterful heavy slub construction and loose, open weave.
Rather than the smooth, uniform surface of a standard cotton, this fabric has visible variations in the yarn thickness running throughout the weave, creating a wonderfully rustic, natural-looking texture. The open construction allows light to pass through the fabric and gives it a relaxed, almost gauze-like appearance, while the heavier slub yarns give it considerably more substance and character than a lightweight gauze.
It's one of those fabrics where the texture really is the star. The deliberately irregular weave gives it an organic, relaxed appearance that works beautifully for soft furnishings, decorative projects, loose clothing and anywhere you want a natural, textural finish.

New To Slub Cotton?
Slub fabric is made using yarns that deliberately vary in thickness rather than being perfectly smooth and uniform.
Those variations create the distinctive thicker and thinner areas visible throughout this fabric, giving the surface its wonderfully natural, textured character.
This particular heavy slub cotton also has a noticeably open weave, allowing you to see the individual yarns and small spaces between them. Despite its airy appearance, the substantial slub yarns give the fabric a midweight feel and more body than you might expect from looking at the weave alone.
The result is a wonderfully tactile fabric with a relaxed, slightly rustic appearance that's very different from a conventional smooth cotton.
