STARS & SCROLLS – PRINTED POLYESTER ORGANZA FABRIC – 150cm WIDE

An absolutely gorgeous sheer organza with an unusual celestial-inspired design of scattered stars and ornate swirling scrolls.

The translucent base has a wonderfully mottled, almost burnished appearance, shifting through shades of olive green, antique gold, bronze and warm coppery brown. Across the surface, dark stars and decorative scroll motifs create a striking contrast, giving the fabric a slightly magical, otherworldly feel.

Because the organza is sheer, the colours and pattern change beautifully depending on what sits behind it and how the light passes through it. Layered or gathered, the colours become richer and deeper; held to the light, the fabric becomes luminous and almost ethereal.

At approximately 36gsm, this is an extremely lightweight fabric with the crisp, structured handle characteristic of organza. Rather than falling into a soft fluid drape, it holds shape and creates volume beautifully – perfect for projects where you want transparency, structure and visual impact.

Sewing & Care Notes

• Pre-wash before sewing

• Machine wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle

• Cool iron

• Do not use high heat

• Fine universal or Microtex needle recommended

• Use fine pins or clips to minimise marking

• Organza can fray when cut, so enclosed or neatly finished seams are recommended

• Take care when pressing as polyester organza is heat sensitive

Organza is a very lightweight, sheer fabric known for its crisp handle and ability to hold shape.

Unlike other lightweight sheer fabrics that fall softly against the body, organza has natural structure. This makes it brilliant for creating volume in skirts, sleeves and overlays without adding lots of weight.

Its transparency also makes layering particularly effective. Placing organza over another fabric can completely change the depth and appearance of its colours, while gathering several layers together creates a much richer effect.
